The Amazing Race 27×05 “King of the Jungle,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
This week the fifth leg began right after the previous one, meaning the teams are running on low steam. After their plan to get rid of the Green Team failed, Tanner and Josh decide to give the Express Pass to Team Alabama.
Road Block
Justin is the first to the Road Block and takes the jump in front of Tanner and Josh, making them even more nervous. The Green Team and Tanner and Josh also seem to have put their past animosity behind them.
Somehow Team Chac and Logan and Chris get confused and leave the Road Block thinking it’s in a different spot. This gives the other teams a chance to get ahead. Logan and Chris spend the rest of their time complaining how dumb their mistake was.
Detour
In Crocs, teams will use a feeding cage and be lowered into a pond to feed hungry crocodiles. In Canoes, teams have to paddle across the river, and then hoist their partner to the top of a tree to get the clue out of a vulture nest.
The Green Team continues their lead and decides to take on the canoes. Tanner and Josh are right behind them but don’t seem to know how to control their boat. The Green Team gets the clue for the next location first.
Kelsey and Joey go to the crocodiles while Team Alabama uses the Express Pass. The rest of the teams all stay on top of one another and go to the crocodiles.
Lion Encounter
Teams accompany a game warden and walk with two 300 pound lions while looking for their next clue. The Green Team and Team Alabama are the first to go, which bumps Tanner and Josh into third place.
Continuing the theme of mistakes, Jazmine and Danielle accidentally go to carry fruit baskets instead of the lion encounter. They have to turn around and go back to the lions, but then forget to look for the clue. Because of this Chris and Logan and Team Chac get ahead of them.
Pit Stop
The teams have to carry a basket of fruit on their heads to the Masuwe Safari Lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe in order to check in at the Pit Stop. This leads to the slowest foot races between Team Alabama and the Green Team!
Thanks to the Express pass, Team Alabama comes in first place and wins a trip to Slovakia.
