The Amazing Race 27×04 “Good Old Fashioned Spit In The Face,” just finished airing! Read our recap to find out which team got eliminated.
Tanner and Josh quickly spread the word on their plan to get rid of Justin and Diana. They want to see the other team U-Turned so that they will be eliminated from the race. This leg the teams are flying to Zambia, Africa. Only four teams can go on the first flight, and unfortunately for the others Justin and Diana make it on.
Village Welcome
Once the teams land in Africa, they have to head to a village where they get the traditional welcoming of a spit in the face from the Village Chief. To make things interesting they weren’t told what the welcome was. Some teams thought it was funny and others were in awe.
Road Block
For the Road Block the teams have to fly over Victoria Falls in a micro-light. Tanner and Josh decide to use their Express Pass to skip the Road Block and get the next clue. Meanwhile, they hope that Joey and Kelsey will be able to beat Justin and Diana in order to carry out their plan. What they don’t know is that Joey and Kelsey also cut a deal with Justin and Diana in case they don’t get eliminated.
When the other teams learn that Tanner and Josh used the Express Pass, they think they made a mistake. Because the Road Block only takes minutes compared to the Detour it won’t give them much advantage.
Detour
When Josh and Tanner arrive at the next clue they find out that the Detour won’t be until the next morning. So they basically wasted their Express Pass because everyone will have time to catch up.
In Wood the teams have to stain and polish a wooden giraffe. In Croquet the teams have to change into a croquet uniform then score five points against an opponent.
Tanner and Josh chose to play Croquet, and so do Justin and Diana. Despite everyone plotting against them, Justin and Diana finish the Detour first. But Tanner and Josh finish right behind them.
The teams at Wood have no problem with staining the little statues but then realize that they have to wait for the stain to dry in order to polish them. It’s not difficult but it’s definitely time consuming!
Double U-Turn
Justin and Diana arrive at the U-Turn first and decide not to use it. Tanner and Josh are relieved that they weren’t U-Turned and say that have a newfound respect for Justin.
Pit Stop
Rose of Charity is the Pit Stop for the fourth leg of the race. Justin and Diana arrive in first place and decide to donate their money to the orphanage. They also find out that the next leg starts right away.
Tanner and Josh get second place and have to decide right away who to give the Express Pass to now that they have used it. Since their plan to U-Turn Justin and Diana didn’t work they have no idea who to give it to. And we have to tune in next week to find out who they pick!
