Yesterday, we posted an in-depth article reviewing and discussing the first season of The CW’s dystopian drama series The 100.

The complete first season has now been released on DVD and Blu-ray, featuring all 13 episodes, and a wealth of special features.

The 100 is based on the Kass Morgan book of the same name. It follows a group of delinquents who have grown up on a space station (the Arc), descendants of the survivors of a nuclear apocalypse which allegedly wiped out all life on Earth. But when the Arc begins to fail, the 100 prisoners are sent to Earth to see if it is inhabitable – and are surprised to discover that they are not alone.

The 100: The Complete First Season features an audio commentary for the season finale “We Are Grounders, Part 2.” There are also deleted scenes, a high quality recording of the 2013 Comic-Con panel, and four Creating the World of The 100 featurettes.

The featurettes are titled “In the Beginning,” “The Ark,” “A New Earth,” and “Grounders, Reapers, and Mountain Men.” They each explain a different group of characters and their circumstances, and feature cast and crew commentary, and behind-the-scenes footage.

The description reads: “These behind-the-scenes featurettes explore the origins of The 100, and how the VFX, SFX, and art departments created the life-sustaining orbiting station The ARK and a post apocalyptic earth both magical and lethal.”

In this small clip, actor Devon Bostick (Jasper) talks about the return of the villainous Murphy (Richard Harmon):
