The 100 season 6 soundtrack, composed by the formidable Tree Adams, is released July 17. Listen to an exclusive track here!

In The 100 season 6, ‘Book 2’ of The CW’s sci-fi epic officially kicked off when our heroes discovered a whole new world full of mysterious phenomena and warring peoples and dangerous technology. It all seemed so alien, but slowly revealed itself to be intimately connected to the show’s existing mythology in ways no one could have predicted.

The score for season 6 had to reflect the massive changes and new developments, while continuing to weave in iconic character- and relationship themes and provide a thorough-line in the soundscape to make The 100 season 6 sound both new and familiar at the same time.

Composer Tree Adams, who has been with the show since season 3, stepped up to the challenge and delivered another excellent, evocative score. And after a very long wait, fans can finally listen to the soundtrack, which will be released by WaterTower Music on Friday, July 17.

Hypable has an exclusive track to share with The 100 fans ahead of the full soundtrack release: “The Anomaly,” a haunting piece of music with vocals and wind chimes and whispers from beyond the veil:

In The 100 season 6, the Anomaly was merely a mysterious green force that left death desolation in its wake when it swept over the Sanctum forests. In season 7, it has been revealed to be a bridge between worlds, connected to the Anomaly Stones placed on seven different planets by a long-forgotten people.

The bridge’s true purpose, why the stones were planted on the planets and how the symbols are used to navigate it, are all questions we hope The 100‘s final season will answer before the end.

Tree Adams says of his process creating the score for The 100 season 6:

“For our season 6 score for The 100, we got the chance to create a rich new palette with the establishing of Planet Alpha, the mysterious Anomaly, Sanctum, Sheideheda and The Primes, setting the stage and some new character themes for the revelations that unfold later in Season 7. Stakes are high as always in the world of The 100 and the music seeks to be a loyal companion on that journey as great challenges are met and sacrifices are made.”

You can purchase and/or stream the album starting tomorrow, July 17, from WaterTower Music. See all options here.

Let’s hope we’ll also get a soundtrack for The 100 season 7!
