We’ve spent so much time with Clarke and Lexa that the importance of this whole ‘City of Light’ thing may have slipped by unnoticed. Well, we’re paying attention now, The 100.

Pike’s arrival and subsequent commencing of hostilities has stolen pretty much all of our focus over the first five episodes of The 100. Sure, the Murphy stuff has occasionally stood out, but Jaha’s crazy seemed pretty much harmless… until now. He’s back at Arkadia and is peddling his story and magic pills to anyone who will listen.

He was unsuccessful in luring Murphy into the ‘light,’ so he’s set his sights on a new target: Raven.

Raven Reyes has been through the ringer time and time again on The 100. She is no stranger to pain. In fact, pain has been her constant companion since Murphy up and shot her at the end of season 1. She may have made some sort of peace with it last season while she and Wick were blowing up generators at the dam, but her new injuries there have just aggravated the existing ones.

It’s both fortunate and unfortunate that she’s playing into Jaha’s hands. We can’t help but feel for Raven. So much has gone wrong for her over the last season and a half that we’re happy to see an end to her pain, even if it is just in her head or something. We don’t yet know how the ‘City of Light’ wafers work, so your guess is as good as ours as to if it is just masking her pain or if it is working some sort of miracle. Answers will eventually be forthcoming, we know it.

We are even more concerned for Jasper, who seems even more receptive to the idea of escaping this world than Raven. He’s been searching for a way out of his reality all season, and being presented with a wonder drug is way too tempting for him to pass up. Abby seems to want answers as to what these wafers actually do, so we are definitely on her side. We want answers, so hopefully Dr. Griffin will get us a few.

Check out the preview for The 100 season 3, episode 6, “Bitter Harvest,” and prepare yourself for all the crazy ahead.

Is Jaha up to no good, or could the City of Light be the answer to all ‘The 100’s’ problems?
