Find out what Octavia, Lincoln, Abby and the rest of The 100 characters will be facing in the upcoming season 2 premiere episode!

The 100 season 2, episode 1, “The 48,” airs in less than a month, on October 22! A few days ago we got the first sneak peek for the episode, showing Clarke (Eliza Taylor) escape from her cell in Mount Weather, and now The CW has released the official synopsis.

On Clarke and her friends, The CW writes:

“Season 2 begins in a dangerous new world – Picking up where the season one finale ended, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) is still alone in the white room, frantically trying to make sense of her bizarre surroundings, while the fate of Bellamy (Bob Morley), Finn (Thomas McDonell) and Raven (Lindsey Morgan) is still unknown.”

However, since we already know what Clarke will be dealing with as the episode opens, we were more intrigued at the hints this synopsis gives us about Lincoln, Octavia and the adults’ storylines:

“Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) and Octavia’s (Marie Avgeropoulos) daring plan is thwarted and an enemy returns. Meanwhile, Abby (Paige Turco), Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) and the survivors of the Ark must face physical and moral dilemmas in their dangerous and beautiful new world. Finally, Jaha (Isaiah Washington) makes a heroic decision.”

Last we saw Octavia, she’d been shot by an arrow, and “handed over” to Lincoln for safe-keeping (yeah… she’s still a strong capable woman though, so we’ll let it slide). They were allegedly heading to Lincoln’s people by the sea, but maybe they changed their minds when they found out what happened to Clarke and her people?

We wonder who this returning enemy might be. Someone from Lincoln’s tribe? Or is it that damn Murphy again (shouldn’t he be dead by now?! We think this guy might be immortal)?

As for Abby and Kane, we were happy to see a bond form between the pair in the season 1 finale, but now that they’re on Earth, we could be looking at a Clarke/Bellamy type situation — someone’s going to have to step up and be the leader, but who decides which of them it’ll be?

This synopsis certainly gave us a lot to think about. Luckily we’ve only got 20 more days to wait until the episode airs! Share all your theories in the comments.

The 100 season 2, episode 1, “The 48,” airs Wednesday, October 22 at 9/8c on The CW.
