Tessa Thompson could be lending her voice to a classic Disney character in an upcoming live-action adaptation!

According to The Wrap, Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson is currently in negotiations to star in Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp.

A source close to the project told the outlet that Thompson is currently being eyed to lend her voice to the role of Lady — the classy Cocker Spaniel who suddenly finds herself out on the street and under the care of a scrappy stray named Tramp.

Thompson isn’t the only big name joining the cast of the upcomimg adaptation of the 1955 animated classic.

We learned earlier this year that The Leftovers star Justin Theroux has officially signed on to join the cast of the film where he’ll be lending his voice to the character of Tramp.

Other actors who will be lending their voice to the project include Ashley Jensen (Arthur Christmas, Agatha Raisin). Jensen will be playing Jackie — a Scottish terrier who happens to be a neighbor of Lady.

Additionally, it was announced last month that Dope star Kiersey Clemons is currently in talks to play Lady’s owner, Darling.

Lady in the Tramp is the latest animated classic to get the live-action treatment as part of Disney’s upcoming slate of movies coming down the pipeline, but one thing that’ll set this film apart from the rest is the way the company plans to release it.

Instead of going for the traditional theatrical release, Disney currently plans to release the film exclusively via their upcoming online streaming platform.

Helmed by The Lego Ninja Movie director Charlie Bean and written by Andrew Bujalski, the movie currently does not have a release date.
