Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are working together again, and this time they’ll be dealing with aliens in the Men in Black reboot.

Details are still pretty scarce regarding Sony’s Men in Black reboot, but it’s just been announced that Tessa Thompson is set to join Chris Hemsworth in the alien-busting fun. We loved watching those two work together on Thor: Ragnarok, and we can’t wait to see the adventures they’ll have in the MIB universe.

And while we don’t know much about the characters Thompson or Hemsworth will be playing, we do know that this franchise reboot is more along the lines of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World reboot rather than a mere remake of the original films starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. Thompson and Hemsworth will be playing totally different characters from Agents K and J, and will build on the established universe.

So does that mean we’ll see Smith and Jones reprise their roles from the original films? Ultimately, we don’t know, however, since the story does take place in the same universe, anything is possible.

However, though the movie is in the same universe as the original Men In Black films, it will have a fresh feel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this reboot will be more of an ensemble piece rather than the “buddy cop” feel of the original films. Additionally, the new MIB will likely be played out on a more global scale than the original movies.

The film doesn’t just have a lot of talent in front of the camera. F. Gary Gray (Fate of the Furious) is set to direct the movie, and it will be written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man). So while it’s nerve-wracking to see a beloved franchise get rebooted, with talented writers, a talented director, and a talented cast, this movie has the potential to be truly awesome.

The new Men In Black movie is set to hit theaters in June of 2019, and we’ll be keeping you updated with all of the new MIB news.
