The Tesla Legacy by K.K. Perez follows a young scientist named Lucy Phelps who develops superpowers. Check out the cover of the book right here!

Lucy is staying in the Tesla Suite of the New Yorker Hotel when her dormant electrical powers are unlocked. As a scientist, there’s only one thing she can do to better understand what’s going on with her: experiment. Unfortunately, that’s interrupted thanks to a centuries old battle between rival alchemical societies.

Both societies believe Lucy is the next step in human evolution — a la the X-Men — but they plan to approach her in two very different ways. One wants her help. The other wants her dead. And on top of all that? Her life expectancy just got cut short thanks to her newfound powers. Is there any way she can discover a solution to all her problems?

Without further ado, here’s the cover for The Tesla Legacy:

Author K.K. Perez tells us a little bit about why she wrote The Tesla Legacy and what exactly is going on in the cover:

“I’m so excited to introduce the world to Lucy, the heroine of The Tesla Legacy. The cover captures a moment from early on in the book when Lucy has a rather shocking experience at the New Yorker Hotel! The glowing orb floating between her hands is a nod to the plasma lamp that was invented by Nikola Tesla. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say that Lucy’s encounter with a Tesla lamp triggers a series of events that changes her life forever.

“When I was a kid, I was obsessed with the plasma globes for sale at a novelty shop in my neighborhood. I didn’t know what caused the pink and purple lightning that followed my fingertips when I touched the globe, but I liked to imagine it was me. My heroine Lucy, however, is a pragmatic scientist and she would likely explain to me that the tentacles of light are plasma filaments and are the result of noble gases interacting with a high-voltage electrode. But Lucy is about to discover that not everything can be explained by objective science––not even herself.”

The Tesla Legacy will be available on March 12, 2019. For now, you can pre-order it on Amazon or IndieBound, or add it to your Goodreads list!
