More bad news for Terra Nova fans who were hoping the show would get picked up by another network. One of the show’s main stars, Jason O’Mara, has signed on for a new CBS pilot.

Deadline reports that O’Mara is joining the Ralph Lamb project which is still untitled. O’Mara will co-star as Lamb’s younger brother Frank who is described as the diplomat in the family.

The untitled pilot is set in the 1960’s and follows the life of a rodeo cowboy turned sheriff of Las Vegas played by Lamb. Johnny Savino will play opposite Lamb as the Chicago mob man whose goals conflict with the Sheriff.

Nicholas Pileggi, James Mangold, Greg Walker, Cathy Konrad and Arthur Sarkissian have signed on as executive producers. While Lamb, Dennis Quaid, and Michael Chiklis are co-executive producers.

While this doesn’t mean that Terra Nova can no longer get picked up, it certainly doesn’t look good. What do you think about Jason O’Mara joining the CBS pilot?
