Terminator: Genesis has found its Kyle Reese in Divergent star Jai Courtney.

Jai Courtney will be joining the cast of the Terminator reboot, made famous by actor Arnold Swarchenegger back in 1984. Terminator: Genesis has snagged Courtney as one of the lead roles Kyle Reese, the father of John Connor.

Paramount is the studio behind the Terminator reboot and we recently found out that Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke will be playing Sarah Connor, while Jason Clarke will be playing her son John Connor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning in his role as the Terminator, though he’ll most likely be a CGI version of himself now that the actor is in his late 60s.

Variety reports that Paramount and Skydance tested quite a few actors before signing Jai Courtney as Reese. The plot details for Terminator: Genesis are being kept quiet, but the studio has plans to make this reboot a trilogy if successful.

Alan Taylor will be directing, while Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake will be the executive producers on the film. Taylor most recently directed Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and is rumored to be looking at directing the third Thor film. He’s also well known for directing six episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Jai Courtney can be seen next as Dauntless leader, Eric, in Divergent opposite Shailene Woodley and Theo James.
