If you’ve only ever heard of one ship for the characters on Teen wolf, chances are it’s Sterek. There are plenty of scenes where Stiles and Derek end up in amusing situations together, but Jeff Davis didn’t mean to pay homage to this fan favorite coupling. In fact, he had no idea it even existed!

In an interview with Zap2it, Davis states:

“What’s funny is that I really didn’t know anything about that until a few months ago,” he laughs. “All of that stuff was already written! It’s funny, because the fans treat it as if we’re making it now, but it’s not true at all. All that stuff is done, months ago, and I didn’t know anything about it.”

And remember that scene where Stiles is attacked by the Kanima and falls down on top of Derek, who’s already paralyzed? Well, that scene was supposed to be a whole lot more interesting.

“The idea was Stiles paralyzed on top of Derek, and Stiles says to Derek, ‘Wait a minute! I can still move my tongue.’ So the scene would have been Stiles pushing his tongue against Derek’s face, trying to get himself off using just his tongue.

“Eventually, the tongue ends up in Derek’s ear, and Derek’s saying, ‘Stop. Just stop. Just stop,'” Davis tells us. “Dylan loved that idea when I pitched it to him.”

Unfortunately, the scene was cut because it didn’t quite fit in with the tone of the scene they were shooting this for. And now that Davis is aware of the ship, will he tone it down? Probably not.
