Fandoms collide as Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien is set to guest star on New Girl in an interesting role that has him playing an early love interest to Zooey Deschanel’s Jess!
TV Guide has exclusively learned that O’Brien will be making an appearance on the hit comedy New Girl. He’ll appear on a flashback episode that is to be centered around how each of the main characters lost their virginity.
O’Brien will be Jess’ prom date and is described as, “a gorgeous, romantic, guitar-playing 18-year-old who promises a memorable ‘first time’ for Jess, who wants to lose her virginity to someone special.” The question is, however, will they go through with it? And will it really be as memorable as promised?
The news of the flashback episode first premiered at the PaleyFest, where creators went into detail about the general plotline, including the fact that Schmidt lost his virginity when he was still “Fat Schmidt.”
Schmidt’s college girlfriend has recently been cast, as Merritt Weaver has now joined the show in this role. The character will reportedly try to get him to revisit his days of chowing down as Fat Schmidt. If he does this, she will help him with the favor he needs, which is to get over his feelings for Cece, since she got engaged.
O’Brien plays the fan-favorite character Stiles on Teen Wolf, which is slated to return on June 3. A major reason why Stiles is so loved by fans is because of O’Brien’s comedic timing, something that will surely come in handy on New Girl. Recently, he’s also been in the movie The First Time, alongside Britt Robertson, as well as The Internship, with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.
