The female characters on Teen Wolf have been shining brightly this season, and we’re so here for every second of it.

Lydia

The premiere episode of Teen Wolf season 5 gave us a side of Lydia we had never seen before. Not only were her Banshee powers far more advanced than they were in season 4, she also whipped out some killer Black Widow-style moves that took down several orderlies in Eichen House.

Lydia has always been genius-level smart, and we continue to see that as she participates in AP Bio, but her skill set has continued to be mental — until now. Though what we saw in episode 1 was just a teaser of what’s to come, we now know we can expect more physical abilities from Lydia. As she trains with Parrish, she’ll be able to defend herself and become even more of an asset to the team.

Malia

Since Malia’s introduction on the show, she’s been a raw force of power. She’s had trouble understanding polite society and her gut reaction is to fight and kill to survive, but it also means she’s intensely loyal to Stiles, Scott, and the rest of her friends.

This season, we’ve seen Malia go toe to toe with one of the Dread Doctors. They may not be as brutally powerful as the Berserkers (which we’ve also seen her fight single-handedly), but they’re still no joke. Her strength was also on display during her confrontation with Theo in the weight room, where she completely dominated him much to his surprise.

Kira

Kira’s storyline has been slowly developing over the first half of season 5A, but next week’s episode looks like it’s going to come close to revealing what exactly is going on with her. In a sneak peek released earlier this week, we see Kira’s mother ambushing her in order to test her skills. When Kira begins to fight back ferociously, her mother realizes the fox spirit inside her daughter is taking over.

Kira has always been a powerful being thanks to her Kitsune powers. Her ability with the katana has also been impressive, but the fight sequence between her mother shows two strong female warriors going head to head — and the results are incredible.

And more to come…

Tracy, may she rest in peace, also did some serious damage as a Kanima, and though she didn’t last longer than a few episodes, she certainly made an impression. Hayden, whose own story is unraveling before our eyes, promises to also become a member of the Ladies Who Kick Ass club if she embraces her newly discovered powers.

Teen Wolf season 5, episode 7, “Strange Frequencies,” airs Monday, August 3 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
