Teen Wolf season 5, episode 1, “Creatures of the Night,” will air on June 29 at 10:00 p.m. on MTV, but for now you can view the cold open to see what is going on with the wolf pack, thanks to E! Online.

Teen Wolf season 5 is certainly taking on a completely different vibe this year. Lydia has ninja abilities! And her banshee powers have certainly grown!
Okay, let’s break it down. First of all, we’re returning to Eichen House, the mental institution that both Stiles and Malia had previously stayed at. Lydia appears to be in a catatonic state, and she’s led back to her room in a daze.
She’s accompanied by two orderlies, and while the crotchety woman seems to be the worst of them, that doesn’t hold true for long. The man takes pleasure in hurting Lydia by injecting her with the syringe, and it isn’t until he’s about to plunge it into her neck that she drops the act and screams.
We can’t tell if Lydia is in the special section of Eichen House where they keep the supernatural creatures, but considering the other “guests” are locked up behind glass like Dr. Valack is, we think it’s a good guess. If that’s the case, does that mean we’ll be meeting other types of creatures this year, too? We hope so!
Things really get surprising when Lydia channels another redhead and goes all Black Widow on some of the orderlies. She’s got those moves down pat, but the real shocker is what she can now do with her Banshee powers. The last time we saw Lydia, she was still trying to get a feel for how they work. Now, however, it’s obvious that she not only knows how to control them, but she’s expanded their usefulness and has turned them into an active power that can push people away.
She escapes Eichen House, but is stopped by someone we’ve seen before — none other than Aiden (Max Carver). He tells her that her treatments are not over yet, but she struggles as she’s taken away, saying, “Please, I have to tell them. They’re all going to die. My friends. They’re all going to die.”
