While Teen Wolf season 5 has been focusing on the Dread Doctors, we’ve still been wondering who will play the Desert Wolf. Now we know!

According to TVLine, NCIS’ Marisol Nichols has been cast as Malia’s mother, the mysterious and deadly Desert Wolf.

Details of her arrival are being kept under wraps, but Lydia’s flashbacks during the premiere did show Malia backing up against a rock wall as she came face to face with her mother.

Little is known of the Desert Wolf at the moment, but we do know she is a dangerous woman. This season, we’ve seen pictures of the kind of violence she can wreak, and we even learned that she was the one who shot up the van carrying Malia and her adopted family on that fateful night.

Malia has been struggling with her parentage since she learned her father was none other than Peter Hale. In the season 5 premiere, though, Malia embraced Tate as her last night, and we’ve already seen some cute moments between her and her adoptive father.

While Stiles was initially helping Malia search for her mother in the beginning of the season, the arrival of the Dread Doctors put that on hold. Malia decided to give up the hunt temporarily in order to focus on stopping the Dread Doctors.

Teen Wolf season 5 will contain 20 episodes, split into two runs of 10. Next week, we’ll be watching episode 8, meaning the mid-season finale is close upon us. When Teen Wolf season 5B airs — presumably in January, if history is to repeat itself — it looks like we’ll be coming face to face with the Desert Wolf right alongside Malia.

How do you feel about Marisol Nichols being cast as the Desert Wolf on ‘Teen Wolf’ season 5?
