The new season 5 promo of Teen Wolf is dripping in bad blood.

Serious trigger warning here everyone. Especially those uncomfortable with needles or blood. If you have difficulties tolerating any of those items you definitely want to avoid this promo.

For those too squeamish to watch the video, we’ll do our best to explain the details so you don’t miss out.

A needle is stuck in an individual’s arm. Blood flows out and through a tube; splattering across a surface and mixing with a black oily substance. The black ooze flows back up into an IV bag where it presumably drips into an unsuspecting victim. The promo cuts to a pair of medical scissors covered with the black ooze that’s dropped to the ground. Then a needle capped syringe is filled with the black liquid and stuck into a person’s ear.

Cut to a shot of the black liquid splattering across Swann Smith’s reimagining of da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man inspired by Teen Wolf itself. A scalpel cuts across the flesh of an individual, but rather than blood flowing out the black ooze appears. The same wound is stitched back up, a vile of the black solution smashes to the ground, and then we see the smudgy ooze running over Scott’s arm band tattoo.

Mouths and lips whisper creepily and the irises in several pairs of eyes fill up with black. “The doctors will see you now,” is spoken overtop the visuals and the camera pulls back to reveal a close up of Scott with his eyes a solid inky black.

The title card “Bad Blood Will Reign” displays, and after the premiere date appears, a hand dripping in the oily sludge is the last image we see.

Teen Wolf teasers are notoriously symbolic in their structure. From Scott drowning himself to Stiles fighting his way through dreams, each specifically constructed promo is more about setting a tone of a season rather than giving away specific details.

Teen Wolf season 5 returns on Monday, June 29 at 10 p.m. EST on MTV.
