Teen Wolf Executive Producer Jeff Davis talks about season 4 and some of the exciting new things we can expect this year.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Davis reveals a whole host of details about season 4, which he says will feel quite different from last season. Part of that has to do with some old characters moving on, and some new characters moving in.

Arden Cho (Kira) and Shelley Hennig (Malia) have been promoted to series regulars and are both now official McCall pack members. Aside from seeing more of these two, we’ll also be getting some brand new characters, one of which is Liam, who Davis revealed will be Scott’s very first beta.

This will play into the main theme of season 4, which Davis says is, “Not all monsters do monstrous things.” Scott will have to face what he’s afraid of most this season. “One of Scott’s greatest fears is worrying he will turn into the monster that Peter was: a huge, monstrous, uncontrollable beast,” Davis continues. “You’ll see those fears played out.”

Scott finally having his first beta is going to not only impact the season, but Scott and some of his friends as well. “What we really wanted to do was give Stiles and Scott a little brother,” Davis explains.

And all of this is not the only thing that’ll be new this season. Davis describes this year’s show as “a season of bounty hunters and assassins.” They’ll be bringing in some mythology we haven’t seen yet, including the Nagual, which is another type of shapeshifter that sometimes comes in the form of a werejaguar. (You should be thinking about Kate Argent right about now…)

Davis says this folklore “brings in South American flair.” He goes on to say that Kate and Peter will have “an interesting dynamic,” but perhaps more surprisingly, “it makes things hard on [Kira] too.”

Be sure to read the rest of the interview over on Buzzfeed, where Davis also talks about the relationships between Stiles and Malia, as well as Scott and Kira, plus more!
