Although this character survived the Teen Wolf finale, they won’t be returning for Teen Wolf season 4.

If you guessed the fan-favorite character was Isaac, played by Daniel Sharman, you would be correct.

Executive Producer Jeff Davis spoke with E! Online, saying, “Daniel Sharman came to us, much like Crystal did, and said that he wanted to go out for pilot season and for movies and try something new.”

Thankfully, Sharman said he didn’t want Isaac to be killed. “He specifically asked that we not kill off Isaac, so that he could have the chance to return. He said he loved the role so much that he wanted to be able to come back if there was a chance,” Davis says.

Davis respected Sharman’s wishes to try some new things, reacting in much the same way he did to Crystal Reed’s decision to leave the show. Davis adds, “As a producer, I don’t want anyone to work on the show who feels like they want to move on.”

Isaac’s exit from the show will be much like Jackson’s in that the door will be open should the actor decide to return. Colton Haynes, who played Jackson in both season 1 and season 2 of Teen Wolf, is currently doing great on the hit show Arrow, and we can only hope the other Teen Wolf actors who decided to try something new will see similar success.

As for where Isaac will be? Davis says, “The story is going to be that Argent sort of takes a sabbatical in France to deal with the death of his daughter and Isaac goes with him.”

However, the creator does mention that Chris will be returning for season 4, so perhaps Isaac’s absence will be that he just wasn’t ready to return. Hopefully it won’t be the last time we see him in Beacon Hills!

Teen Wolf season 4 will premiere this summer, on June 23. Allison, Aiden, and Isaac are just a few of the characters that won’t be returning, but there are plenty that will. Malia Tate, played by Shelley Hennig, will become a season 4 regular, while Meredith (Maya Eshet) and Braeden (Meagan Tandy) will both be appearing as well.
