Teen Wolf season 4, episode 2, “117,” has just finished airing. Did our heroes help a certain someone get back to normal? Our recap explains it all!

Teen Wolf season 4, episode 2, titled “117,” begins with young Derek having trouble controlling his transformation. Young Peter helps him by telling him to pull out some sort of object with the triskelion on it while he chants, “Alpha, Beta, Omega.”

Jumping forward in time, Kate is having trouble controlling her own transformation into a werejaguar. Only, she doesn’t have anyone to help her and she ends up attacking an innocent bystander.

Also in the present, our heroes bring young Derek to Dr. Deaton. The vet doesn’t know what’s going on, and decides they have to wait until he wakes up to do anything else. Lydia stays, although Stiles doesn’t seem too keen on the idea.

Agent McCall appears to be staying at Scott’s house, at least when his mom is on the night shift, and it looks like the two of them are trying to do some father-son bonding. So far it still seems like an awkward situation.

Back at the vet’s, Derek wakes up confused. He attacks Deaton and leaves. Then the next day at school, Stiles tells Scott about his relationship with Malia. He doesn’t quite know where he stands (other than he’s always the little spoon), and keeps thinking about how he needs to tell Malia that her real father is Peter. But Malia seems to have enough on her mind at the moment, as it appears she’s struggling with keeping up at school.

When Kate turned Derek back, she didn’t just do it to him physically. Instead, it also seems as though he’s menatally reverted back to his younger self and doesn’t remember anything that’s happened since. He goes to his house looking for his family, only to find it torn down. The cops show up, but when he doesn’t get the answers he wants and starts to get violent, one of the cops pulls a taser on him.

At the police station, the cops fingerprint young Derek, but only see his older picture. Sheriff Stilinski comes in and quickly puts two and two together (after briefly wondering if time traveling is a thing), and gets Scott and Stiles to help. They talk to Derek and convince him to lay low while they figure out how to fix him. Scott chooses to lie to him about the fate of his family.

Lydia and Kira pull up to a gas station, but by the time Kira realizes they don’t actually need gas, Lydia has already found a dead body. It’s the man Kate had attacked earlier in the episode.

Malia shows up to talk to Peter with Scott, saying that he’ll be better protected with her there. Peter meets his daughter for the first time, but Malia is still in the dark about their relationship. Bigger matters take precedence, like Peter realizing Kate has come back to life.

And while Stiles leaves Derek alone for just a minute, Kate steals him away.

It turns out that Kate wants the triskelion, which will help her control her transformation. Derek takes her to the vault under the school, with Peter, Malia, and Scott close on their heels. But they’ve got a little obstacle in their way in the form of a human with a skull mask. They’re also known as Berzerkers.

Peter tells Kate that the Triskelion doesn’t hold any power, that it was just something for Derek to focus on. As young Derek hears Scott fighting off the Berzerkers, he goes to help him. Kira tries to fight them off as well, but she doesn’t get far.

As Derek fights the Berzerkers, he begins turning back to his normal self. When someone throws smoke bombs down into the vault, Kate makes her getaway and the Berzerkers follow. By that time, Derek has returned to his older self, but something is amiss: He now has golden eyes instead of blue.

At the very end of the episode, we see someone waltz into the vault and steal a briefcase full of bearer bonds. When Stiles and Lydia ask how much was stolen, Peter reveals that it was $117 million dollars worth. And now we know what the title of the episode means.
