Believe it or not, Meredith gets even creepier in the latest sneak peek from Teen Wolf season 4, episode 10, titled “Monstrous.”

Meredith and Peter come face to face in the sheriff’s station. The only thing Peter wants to know is where his money is, but Meredith seems to be thinking about other things.

Peter is as sassy as ever, but even Sheriff Stilinski seems to be as done with his attitude as everyone else. Lydia also looks on, and is quick to tell Peter not to underestimate Meredith. Peter, however, makes it clear that he just thinks Meredith is crazy.

Stilinksi sends the elder Hale into the interrogation room with Meredith, with Parrish standing guard. The room is full of tension as the two stare each other down.

When Peter asks Meredith where the remainder of his money is, Meredith doesn’t answer him. Instead, she reaches forward and strokes the side of his face. Peter is obviously uncomfortable and grabs her hand. “They’re all gone,” she says.

Meredith is referring to Peter’s scars left over from the Hale House fire. It took six years — and his sanity — to heal himself cell by cell, but Peter’s burns have disappeared.

Though the moment is quick, this is quite a revelation, and Lydia is the one to point it out. If Meredith is commenting on Peter’s scars, that means she must have known him or at least met him in the past six or seven years. Was Meredith in the hospital while Peter was healing, or had Peter done a stint in Eichen House, the mental hospital Meredith had been living in for quite some time?

In this episode, we’re supposed to find out the origins of the Dead Pool, so perhaps this is where that starts.

You can catch Teen Wolf season 4, episode 10, “Monstrous,” at a special time on Sunday, August 24 at 7 p.m. ET on MTV. It will also air at its usual time on Monday, August 25 at 10 p.m.

Do you have any solid theories for how Meredith knows Peter?
