The past few weeks have been a painful one for Teen Wolf fans, as MTV has been sharing snippets of footage that’s making fans equally excited and terrified.
The promotional videos have all been around 16 seconds long — just enough of a tease, but not quite enough to give a whole lot away. In addition to these videos, we’ve got some new pictures and a couple of small tidbits of information. Check out our list below to see what current promotional images and videos have been surfacing as of late.
The Videos
These are arguably the most intriguing — and most frustrating — teases for Teen Wolf season 3 that we’ve gotten so far. They’re just small snippets of video, and not all of them are footage, but they’ve given us the most to think about so far. In order of release:
The promo
This is the first promo video we’ve gotten for Teen Wolf season 3. Above is the extended version, which shows Scott drowning himself, a rope breaking, and a wolf snarling in the background.
The Black Goo
The first of several teasers landed online about a week ago. No one saw it coming, and no one was prepared. This one shows one of the Alpha Pack twins with a bloody nose. Except that isn’t blood. That’s the werewolf venom we sometimes see when something is seriously wrong with one of our wolves.
The Eyes
Next up we had a spooky look at the different colors a werewolf’s eyes could be. First they’re normal, then they turn yellow like Scott’s, red like an Alpha’s, and blue like Derek’s pre-Alpha transformation and Jackson’s post-Kanima transformation. Oh, and the last one is BLACK. What in the world could that mean?
The Stranger
Then we get this quick snippet that only shows the back of some mysterious hooded stranger. We have no idea who it could be, friend or foe, but the Latin being whispered in the background certainly is ominous.
Isaac
Poor Isaac! Someone seems to be trying to drown him, though there’s no context to this shot in order to figure out why (or who!). Given that Isaac is supposed to be pretty beaten up in the beginning of episode 1, we’re sure it’s not going to be pretty.
Lydia
This is the most chilling video they’ve released yet. It shows someone in a body bag being zipped up, Lydia screaming, and Stiles saying, “They’re gonna find her, strangled, throat slashed, head bashed in.” Now, some fans are thinking that Lydia is just a red herring and that Stiles may be referring to Erica instead, but either way, the season seems to be living up to its tagline: “This Might Hurt.”
Scott
This next promo focuses on Scott, and we hear him narrating, “You’re either going to kill them, or they kill you.” Meanwhile, we see a red Alpha’s eye blink and turn into an ominous and mysterious black one.
Derek
In this one, we see the Alpha Pack symbol on a door, which is rattling on its hinges, and hear Scott saying, “Something’s coming. Something bad.” Then we see Kali stab Derek through the chest with a pipe!
More videos are sure to be released in the near future, leading up to what will be a spectacular promotional video with actual footage. In the meantime, we’re hoping we’ll get a video for each of our major characters.
The Photos
Derek in Trouble
This picture is intriguing for a couple of different reasons. First, the Alpha Pack twins and Derek seem to be in Derek’s apartment. Not only that, but Derek seems to have been overpowered — and the twins aren’t even wolfed out! It’s just a quick shot, but it makes us worry about Derek, that’s for sure.
‘Teen Wolf’ Cake!
Next up we’ve got a shot of the party the cast and crew held as they wrapped up the first part of Teen Wolf season 3. Don’t worry, we’ve still got another 12 episodes to go after this initial chunk, but at least we know that all the major filming has been completed for the first 12.
The Alpha Pack Twins
The Alpha Pack twins seem to be featured left and right these days — not that we’re complaining! In a small tease over on TV Guide, we see Ethan and Aiden being electrocuted, partially wolfed out. More interesting than that? Executive Producer Jeff Davis said, “There’s a little secret to them that I can’t tell you about.” He also goes on to say the scene above shows us, “a new kind of transformation for these werewolves.” What in the world could that mean?
Zombies?
In yet another horrifyingly vague tease, we got this shot that’s, well, horrifying. And vague. It appears that there are multiple hands reaching up and out of the ground. Could we actually be seeing zombies on the show this year? (Peter doesn’t count, guys. Technically he’s still of the living-flesh-and-blood variety.) Or is this another metaphorical scene like the promo was?
More ‘Teen Wolf’
