In a new teaser clip for Teen Wolf season 3, we get a frightening look into how our three main characters will be dealing with the aftermath of their sacrifices.

You can watch the video below. Then be sure to stick around for our analysis!

In the first shot of the teaser clip, we get a close up of Stiles. He’s speaking in reverse (“Wake up, Stiles. It’s just a dream.”), which lends itself to the creepy music and the girl’s voice in the background.

The video then switches to showing us a woman behind a white screen of some sort, looking like she’s trying to claw her way out. And we’re already thinking we’re going to have nightmares.

We also see someone’s hand, presumably Stiles’, touching a doorknob, and then quickly letting go as if they’re hearing or seeing something they’re afraid of.

The next piece of footage shows us part of the clip that was shown at New York Comic-Con in October in which Stiles was imagining his whole class doing sign language while staring at with him blank expressions.

The creepy instrumentals and the girl’s voice continue as we see dozens of hands clawing at the white screen, interspersed with smoke billowing up against a black background.

Stiles sees the Nemeton on the football field (that football field is full of bad luck, if you ask us), which is where he was standing in the beginning of the clip. However, then the stadium lights fade away and he’s back in the woods in front of the tree stump. The video flashes back to Stiles on the football field, yelling at himself to wake up.

The girl sings the ending of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” drawing out the phrase, “Life is but a dream.”

And our childhood is ruined in under 30 seconds.

While the clip is intense and interesting, it also doesn’t give too much away. We know that Allison, Scott, and Stiles will be struggling with the darkness that is in their hearts as a result of the sacrifice they each made in order to save their parents at the end of season 3, part 1, but we’re certain this clip only shows us just the beginning of their psychological downward spiral.
