Teen Wolf has added a pair of students to the show for the second half of season 3, and from their descriptions, it sounds like they’ve had it rough.

According to an E! Online spoiler chat, we’ll be meeting Oliver and Meredith in episode 20. E! describes them as both having “troubled pasts.”

“While Oliver is soft-spoken and has a quiet intensity,” E! reports, “he’ll prove to be a valuable source of info for one of our main characters.” On the other hand, “Meredith is a lonely misfit who probably won’t be looking to connect with anyone around her anytime soon.”

These descriptions seem quite eerie, but very promising! Oliver has our interest right away if he possesses information that can help our heroes solve whichever mystery is on their plate in season 3B. Could he know something more about the Kitsune myth?

Meredith, however, seems like she could become an issue for our favorite characters. Will she be a hindrance, or will she end up coming through for Scott & Co. despite being a loner?

This spoiler comes on the heels of a quiet announcement from two actors that they’ll be joining Teen Wolf in the upcoming year. First we have Gina Holden, who tweeted that she has a top secret role.

Holden is 38 years old, so it seems unlikely that she’ll be playing a Beacon Hills student. It doesn’t look like playing Meredith is in her future, but we’re excited to learn what the Canadian beauty could be up to on the show.

Next, Matt Shively tweeted that he’ll be experiencing some drama soon — but in a good way! He’ll also be joining the cast of Teen Wolf in what sounds like a limited role.

Shively is 23 years old, making it quite possibly that he’s up for the role of Oliver. However, there’s no proof of that whatsoever, so just stick the idea in your back pocket and save it for later.

Considering we don’t meet Meredith and Oliver until episode 20 — nearly the end of season 3 — we have high hopes that their characters will either throw a huge twist at our favorite wolf pack, or they’ll be one of the final clues to help the team crack the case.
