Teen Wolf season 3, part 2 is less than two months away, and promotion for the final 12 episodes is starting to ramp up.

That promotion begins with the Nemeton, the mystical tree that is sacred to the Druid emissaries. It turns out it has a few tricks up its, uh, branches.

In the photo below, released on MTV’s Remote Control Blog, we get a great look at someone discovering the new growth sprouting out of the Nemeton’s stump.

In a new behind-the-scenes video, Tyler Posey (Scott) gets us excited for the upcoming second half of Teen Wolf season 3 and explains that, no, the Nemeton is not a real tree they cut down for the show. Because that’s illegal.

Instead, we get a good look at him perched on the stump with the little sprout off to the side. Additionally, we see Crystal Reed (Allison), Holland Roden (Lydia), and Daniel Sharman (Isaac) getting ready to shoot scenes out in the woods.

The video doesn’t tell us much about what’s going on in this scene, though the presence of Allison and her bow is always both exciting and a little worrying. And could that be Daniel Sharman just fooling around, or will Isaac be saving Lydia from an arrow?

At the end of season 3, episode 12, Jennifer Blake was killed against the Nemeton by Peter. She wasn’t the first sacrifice made to the tree, however, as she had been killing Beacon Hills residents all season long. Not only that, but Scott, Allison, and Stiles sacrificed themselves in order to save their parents from a similar fate.

As a result, the Nemeton is now awake (and, apparently, growing) and will act as a beacon for supernatural creatures. The Californian town will see an influx of strange events going into the latter half of season 3, the focus of which will be the Japanese myth of the Kitsune.

There’s going to be a lot of exciting things in store for us come January 6 when Teen Wolf returns, and the growing Nemeton is only the beginning!

Are you looking forward to seeing a fully functioning Nemeton on ‘Teen Wolf’?
