That’s right, Wolf Pack! Allison has put aside her bow and arrow (temporarily, we’re sure) and is now sporting something new and different for her hunting duties.
MTV Remote Control Blog shared the two photos of actress Crystal Reed in character as Allison as she takes on a new weapon: a katana.
The katana is a Japanese sword traditionally used by samurai warriors. It’s fitting considering Teen Wolf season 3, part 2 will be focusing on Japanese mythology, particularly the kitsune, with additions including the Yakuza warriors.
In the first photo we see Reed with her stunt double, who looks to be instructing her on how best to hold and maneuver the sword.
In the background of what appears to be the locker room (which at this point is about as unlucky as the lacrosse field), Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) is wolfed out. Standing next to him is a girl sporting a crossbow, which is usually Allison’s weapon of choice. It’s unfortunate that we can’t see her face to know who she is.
In the second picture, Reed is once again holding the katana as her stunt double mimics her movements. This time one of the Carver twins is in the background.
Allison has always been a fun character to watch fight and hunt the creatures that populate Beacon Hills, as she’s not superhuman like Scott. However, she’s more than capable of holding her own, especially when she has her hands on a bow or her knives. It’s going to be interesting to see how she handles the katana.
