Teen Wolf producer Christian Taylor has been tapped as the showrunner for a new MTV cyber thriller called Eye Candy.

Christian Taylor has not only been co-executive producer for all of Teen Wolf season 3, but he has also written several stand-out episodes (“Abomination,” “Motel California,” “Riddled”) and directed some fan-favorites as well (“Motel California,” “Devoid”).

Now MTV is tapping Taylor for a new show called Eye Candy. Taylor will be the showrunner, according to Hollywood Reporter, and executive produce the 10 episode run for the network.

There’s no word yet on how this will affect Taylor’s Teen Wolf duties. Considering the excellence he has brought to the show previously, we hope he will be able to stay on board in at least some capacity.

Eye Candy is based on a novel of the same name by R.L. Stine, the famed Goosebumps author. The show “centers on Lindy, a tech genius who, convinced by her roommate to begin online dating, starts to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the elusive cyber police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming with a band of hackers, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York.”

Victoria Justice stars as Lindy and is joined by Harvey Guillen (The Internship), who will play Juan.

MTV programming president Susanne Daniels says, “I’m hoping to create MTV’s version of CSI.” Adding, “I can’t remember the exact storylines in the different CSI pilots, but I’m fairly confident that they didn’t linger on too much back story. They just got to it, and that’s what I think we need to do.”

Given the popularity and success of Teen Wolf, MTV seems to be moving in the right direction in terms of both the subject matter of several of their new shows, as well as asking Taylor to executive produce.
