In a recent interview, Jeff Davis spoke about the future of Teen Wolf, a type of monster that won’t be making an appearance, and a flashback episode centering around Derek.

Check out the interview from Clevver below:

Right off the bat, Davis tells us that the mystery girl from the revealed first page of the 3×01 script is going to be extremely important in that episode. He even goes so far as to call her an ally of Scott and his friends.

That would, quite obviously, make her an enemy of the alphas. And speaking of the alphas, Davis says, “We’ve spent a lot of time crafting these characters to make them interesting and threatening and villainous.” They also refer to the female alpha as their Bond villain, which certainly gives us hope for an interesting and dynamic character.

Clevver then asked Davis if there will be any vampires on the show this season. His response: “I can conclusively say there will be no vampires on the show this season.” If you’re anything like us, you probably just fist-pumped the air. He continues by saying, “And usually my typical line is that there will never be vampires on the show Teen Wolf, but ask me that in five years when we’ve run out of ideas.” Fair enough.

Teen Wolf, at the moment, is an incredibly popular show. But will it last? Davis seems to think so. “They say the hardest season to get in a TV show is the second,” he says. “We seem to have a very loyal, passionate fan base. We’ve got so many super fans. If they stick around and the Nielsen ratings are kind to us, we’ll probably be back for more seasons, depending on how much energy I have. This show takes a lot out of me.”

But we’ll worry about that later. For now, we just want more season 3 news. Apparently, there will be a flashback episode that centers around a young Derek Hale and will help us to understand a little bit more about this mysterious character’s past. No complaints here. Interestingly enough, they’re thinking about doing a hunter flashback alongside that. A young Chris Argent, perhaps?

Were you hoping for vampires, or are you excited Davis said no?
