A new Let the Right One In adaptation will be arriving soon thanks to A&E and Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, A&E won rights to the adaptation after a bidding war with Showtime. The story “follows [a] boy and female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own.”

Let the Right One In is based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel, which was adapted into a movie by Tomas Alfredson in 2008. The film, starring Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leandersson (pictured above), earned high praise from critics.

In 2010, an English version of the movie was made, titled Let Me In. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloë Grace Moretz were the stars of the Matt Reeves-directed project.

Now A&E has a chance to put their own twist on the story.

A&E will be working with Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, who will be penning the script along with actor and screenwriter Brandon Boyce, who played Dr. Vandenburg on Davis’ show.

The project is still in its early stages, but we do know that A&E Studios will be producing the project alongside Tomorrow Studios, the latter of which has also worked with Davis on Teen Wolf. Davis will also executive produce with Boyce, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Simon Oakes.

Let the Right One In will continue Davis’ involvement in genre adaptations, especially as Teen Wolf season 5 gears up for its June 29 release date. Teen Wolf will enjoy 20 episodes this year, which will be broken up into two groups of 10.

As this project continues to develop, we’ll bring you news about its progress.
