The music in Teen Wolf has always been something fans have loved. Check out what the composer has to say about the score in season 3!

Composer Dino Meneghan talked to the MTV Remote Control Blog about how the score is usually put together for Teen Wolf and all of the hard work various members of the team do in order to make it as intense and exciting as possible.

In terms of the editing process, Meneghan says the editors use music from past seasons while putting an episode together, just so they have something to work with. Once they’re done with that, they’ll send it to him and he’ll go through the episode and make notes about what he’d like to see at which points in the story.

After that, they have about a week to get all of the music together – usually around 30 minutes of it. When it’s finished, the editors have them tweak a few things, they’ll change what’s necessary, and the episode is done!

So, what kind of changes can we expect for season 3? We know this season is going to be darker and more rooted in the horror aspect of the show. Because of that, Meneghan wants this season to be more orchestral, as compared to the more electronic sounds of last season.

He goes on to say, “I’d like to have a little more acoustic feel.” How does he find sounds to incorporate into the show? By going to a junkyard, of course! “I’ll go out with another composer friend of mine, and we’ll take junk from junkyards or auto salvage spots and record ourselves banging on them, and those sounds get used throughout this season,” he says. “Another favorite sound that you’ll hear this season is a dog from our obedience class howling, and that became very sinister.”

It looks like they’re definitely going for a different tone this season, as we saw yesterday that they have a choir on hand to do some chanting.

Meneghan was also on set a few days ago. What did he have to say about the experience? Another tease about all the deaths we’ll be seeing this season, we’re afraid. “I can tell you it’s a whole lot of fun. There’s some big stuff happening,” he hints. “A whole lot of people getting killed.”

As if we weren’t already feeling anxious enough!
