MTV’s Teen Wolf will be ending after season 6B, showrunners announced at San Diego Comic-Con today.

This year’s Teen Wolf panel at SDCC is bittersweet, as we’re learning that the show is coming to an end after season 6 wraps. The final episodes begin to premiere this fall on MTV, ending with episode 100 in 2017.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon in San Diego. It’s important to note that Teen Wolf is not canceled, per say — they’ve just decided that it’s time for the show to end.

“Teen Wolf has been an extraordinary journey, one that captured the hearts and imaginations of fans more than we could’ve ever imagined,” said showrunner and executive producer Jeff Davis in a statement. “We’re eternally grateful for the support we’ve received over these past six years and we’re excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure.”

Teen Wolf has been one of MTV’s most popular shows, so the news is certainly shocking… and sad!

We’ll have more coverage from Teen Wolf’s time at SDCC later. We were in the midst of covering the show’s panel when the news of the show’s ending broke. Watch the first season 6 trailer here!
