Ever since Lydia went comatose on Teen Wolf in order to be trained in her mind by Meredith, we’ve been wondering when she’ll wake up. Is today that day?

Lydia’s current condition is a mystery to all those around her, but we’re pretty sure things are actually looking up for the Banshee-in-training. Meredith continues her lessons, and while Lydia may appear comatose, she’s definitely getting a lot done inside her mind.

Unfortunately, that means her friends and family are extremely worried about her. In a clip released for this week’s Teen Wolf season 5, episode 14, “The Sword and the Spirit,” we see Lydia lying prone in her bed as Stiles talks to her about math homework. He begs her to wake up, but she doesn’t so much as blink the entire time. Mrs. Martin interrupts the quiet moment, kicking Stiles out of the room. Only when he stands up does Stiles notice the shaved portion of Lydia’s head. Mrs. Martin claims it’s for shock treatment, but Stiles knows better.

At the beginning of season 5, we saw Lydia have complete control over her powers. We also saw her begin in the shower, with the female orderly telling Lydia she didn’t believe she was really comatose. Later in this episode Lydia wakes up, fights the Eichen House workers, and makes her way outside, only to be stopped by a vision of Aiden and subsequently caught by the security guards.

In the above clip, Lydia’s head is being shaved in order to prepare her for trepanation, and we also see the orderly tell Lydia it’s time for her shower. Both of these events happen prior to Lydia being rescued, but we don’t know how much longer she’ll have to wait for her friends to come get her. We also know that before Scott and the pack show up, Theo and his chimeras break into Eichen in order to find Deputy Parrish, the hellhound.

This week’s episode, “The Sword and the Spirit,” is meant to focus around Malia and a confrontation she’ll have with the Desert Wolf. We also know episodes 15 and 16 are meant to be a two-part continuation focused on Lydia and breaking her out of Eichen House. Perhaps Lydia will wake up at the end of 14 or the beginning of 15, and as we “catch up” to the present (what we saw in the season 5 premiere), everything else moving forward will be new. We’ve already seen clips in various trailers of Stiles helping Lydia get out, and we can’t wait to see what they must go through to do exactly that!

‘Teen Wolf’ season 5, episode 14, ‘The Sword and the Spirit,’ airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. on MTV
