Teen Wolf season 5, episode 13, “Codominance,” just finished airing, and this week Scott attempted to bring Kira back into his pack.

At the top of the episode, we meet Kira where we last left her in the desert of New Mexico. The Skinwalkers pin her to a rock face with a spear, but they’re not there to kill her. Instead, they’re going to help her control her fox spirit. But if she doesn’t pass the tests, she has to become a Skinwalker…forever

The test is a simple one. Kira must face off against an oni, but when she slices it with her sword, she’s injured in return. In the end, her kitsune spirit gives her the power to defeat him.

Unfortunately, this means she failed her test. The kitsune spirit controls her; she does not control it.

Luckily for Kira (and her mother), Scott and Stiles show up just in time and give them a way out. But only after Noshiko slices a spear in half. Longwise.

Then Kira and Scott kiss, and everything is right in the world.

The rest of the episode continues to piece together parts of the narrative. Liam attempts to talk to Scott, but the Alpha isn’t having it. Stiles, on the other hand, tells him he needs his Beta. Still, they leave without him, and Liam is left to deal with Theo at school.

Speaking of Theo, he and Tracey go after the Beast, but just at a distance. They don’t want to confront the monster yet, but they do come up against Dread Doctors, who tell Theo to leave. The group sees the Beast, who has decapitated someone, but he leaves before he can do anymore damage.

In the car on the way to collect Kira, Scott reads up on damnatio memoriae, which is a term used when all information about a person has been erased from history. Scott concludes that an infamous serial killer, who boiled children in order to eat their skin, became a werewolf, and therefore became the Beast.

Scott is also still working on getting Stiles into his pack. Stiles tells Scott about Donovan, the true story, and Scott wonders why they didn’t just keep talking for five more minutes that night in the rain. Everything would’ve been solved by then. Scott wishes all the blood were on his hands. It’s supposed to be that way, since he’s the Alpha.

Throughout the episode, Meredith also continues to teach Lydia, Mason gets closer to Corey, and Malia attacks Theo, who says the Dread Doctors can find the Desert Wolf and Deaton.

But it ultimately comes down to the information Mason provided for Scott: Theo is looking for Deucalion.
