Teen Wolf hit the stage at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 to discuss season 5 and show us exclusive video footage.

‘Teen Wolf’ SDCC panel highlights

Teen Wolf attended San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, with a panel hosted by Kevin Smith. In attendance were Executive Producer Jeff Davis, Shelley Hennig (Malia), Tyler Posey (Scott), Dylan O’Brien (Stiles), Holland Roden (Lydia), Dylan Sprayberry (Liam), and Cody Christian (Theo).

You can now watch the trailer released at the panel, which shows Liam’s friend Hayden in her car as it dies, while being tracked down by the Doctors. We also see plenty of characters lying on the ground looking in bad shape. Even the Jeep doesn’t get off easily.

We also hear Theo saying the best way to hurt someone is to “go after somebody he loves.” After this, we see both Melissa screaming, Stiles fighting Theo, and Kira attacking Scott. “I think we’re all a little off,” Stiles says, and Scott takes offense to this. Meanwhile, we also see Parrish on fire again, and Lydia in the hospital counting backwards from 10, seeing the Doctors as she does.

Who wants a season 6?

Right at the top of the panel, it was announced that Teen Wolf season 6 had been officially ordered by MTV.

With season 5A airing now and season 5B most likely projected to air in January, we won’t be seeing season 6 until next summer at the earliest. At the panel there was no mention of how many episodes the season would contain, but The Hollywood Reporter has now announced that MTV ordered another 20 episode run.

For the love of ‘Teen Wolf’

Another highlight from the panel came in the form of Kevin Smith, who is truly a fan of the show (thanks to his daughter). He had plenty of great things to say about Teen Wolf — including the fact that he loves Scott and Stiles’ relationship.

But the love was reciprocated when Posey handed Smith a jersey with the number 13 on it and his name on the back. The moderator seemed a bit emotional about the thoughtful present, and it was obvious how much it meant to him.

Lady Ass Kickery

It’s clear that this season will be highlighting the amazing women on the show, and depicting them in a way that shows off their amazing combat skills. Both Hennig and Roden had been dancers in the past, and both agreed they liked being active in their roles this season.

“We’ve been given the best platform to [portray strong female characters],” Hennig said of Davis’ scripts and his portrayal of strong female characters, which aren’t found in a lot of television shows.

“I just try to write the truth,” Davis says. Slightly off-topic but still hitting on a topic of interest this weekend, Davis also added, “I think there should be a Black Widow movie.”

Looking ahead

Teasing us about the rest of the season, the cast says things are falling apart around Scott, and he’s beginning to wonder if someone else would end up being a better leader than him. Something will also happen in episode 5 that causes a rift between Scott and Stiles. Theo will use this against them, and it’s possible the two best friends will be headed toward a break up.

Fans were also curious about Derek’s return, but the cast made it clear that was up to Tyler Hoechlin and his availability. Davis suggested we tweet him to let him know we want him back!
