In what can only be considered an impressive technical feat, Seth MacFarlane’s computer-generated teddy bear Ted appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the DVD/Blu-ray release of the self-titled film.

The video is worth a watch not only to hear some more comedy from the rude and lovable bear, but also to marvel at how they pulled the trick off. Kimmel is speaking live to Ted, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, but MacFarlane is off camera voicing the character. We’re sure it’s too technical for us to explain, but we’re impressed by how the animated character appears to look like he’s really there and talking with Kimmel.

In the interview Ted confirms that a sequel is indeed in the works. He also cracks jokes about his new life as a movie star. Asked if he’s been invited to join other entertainment jobs, the bear revealed, “They offered me Peter Dinklage’s part in Game of Thrones. But I turned it down because there are dragons there and I’m highly flammable.”

Watch below. Ted was released on DVD/Blu-ray yesterday, and we wrote up a largely positive review of the home release.

The film grossed over $500 million worldwide with $218 million of that coming from domestic ticket sales, making it the eighth highest-grossing film of the year in the United States.
