Seth Macfarlane’s Ted 2 is already a star-studded film, but Morgan Freeman has now joined the sequel as an iconic civil rights lawyer.

The most recent casting news about Ted 2 was that Les Misérables actress Amanda Seyfried was cast in the lead role, while Mila Kunis will be given a “tiny role, if at all,” in the Ted sequel.

Now we have the incredible Morgan Freeman joining the cast as an “iconic civil rights lawyer.” There aren’t many details known about the plot, but Variety reports Ted will need some legal advice from a lawyer at some point in the sequel and Freeman will play said lawyer.

Ted became the highest grossing R-rated original comedy when it grossed nearly $550 million at the worldwide box office. A sequel was being rumored the week after the film’s blockbuster weekend and now production is currently underway in Boston.

Both Freeman and Seyfried are highly talented, so we look forward to seeing what kind of roles the two will undoubtedly have in the hilarious sequel. Adding Morgan Freeman to the cast definitely elevates it a bit, so we look forward to seeing how the sequel plays out.

We can’t wait to see the thunder buddies back on the big screen again, and we imagine Ted 2 will be another blockbuster for Seth Macfarlane and Mark Wahlberg when it hits theaters on April 3, 2015.
