Amanda Seyfried has officially signed on to star in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted sequel.

Move out of the way Mila Kunis, Amanda Seyfried is taking over the female lead role in MacFarlane’s Ted 2. MacFarlane, director and actor of Ted, announced via Twitter that the sequel to his hit film would be headed to theaters on April 3, 2015.

The actor discussed taking on Ted 2 back at Comic-Con 2012, and later confirmed that he would be moving forward with the sequel.

Deadline reports that Les Misérables actress Amanda Seyfried has been cast in the lead role, while Mila Kunis will be given a “tiny role, if at all,” in the Ted sequel. Despite the move, MacFarlane and Kunis (who voices Meg in Family Guy) are still close friends.

Ted became the highest grossing R-rated original comedy when it grossed nearly $550 million at the worldwide box office. A sequel was being rumored the week after the film’s blockbuster weekend and now it seems we’re on our way to seeing Ted back up on the big screen in 2015.

Seyfried is highly talented and incredibly beautiful, so we look forward to seeing what kind of role she’ll have in what will undoubtedly be a hilarious sequel. She’ll also be in MacFarlane’s film A Million Ways to Die in the West, which hits theaters May 30, 2014.

We can’t wait to see the thunder buddies back on the big screen again, and we imagine Ted 2 will be another blockbuster for Seth Macfarlane and Mark Wahlberg when it hits theaters on April 3, 2015.
