Ever wanted to read a book for school faster, but didn’t have the time? Then this (future) app is for you.

Basics

The Spritz speed reading app takes advantage of a singular focal point to allow the human eye to read at unprecedented rates.

By concentrating on the red letter of each word speeding by in a small window, it’s possible to train yourself to read a book that would usually take days in hours.

What makes it so cool?

By training your eyes, you can easily get up to 600WPM, while still retaining a significant amount of information. Trust us, if you’re skeptical, use the plugin on the Sprtiz main webpage to work your way up.

While most people average at a 220 WPM average, Spritz claims that it can eventually allow you to read a 1,000 page novel in 10 hours.

This can make it possible to speed-read that nasty homework assignment in the fastest and most effective way possible, or to catch up the night before your book club meets (do those still exist?).

Downsides

Spritz claims that some people are “already spritzing at around 1,000 WPM.” Also, the site’s test speed-reader states that comprehension should not go down if you train yourself up to any given speed properly.

Little can be told about the actual downsides of the product and its effect on comprehension levels until the app goes live to the general public sometime in the near future.

We’re curious as to what the pros and cons will be to each of the following promised devices/services: SMS Messages/Texts/Messaging Clients, Social Media, Embedded Media, Closed Captioning, Digital Books, Smart Watches, Mobile Phones, E-Readers, Head Mounted Displays, and Outdoor Notifications and Ads.

Check it out for yourself!

Test out your speed for this unique speed reading app on the Spritz main webpage. It’s interesting to see if you can get your WPM up to the 600 speed in the example reader.
