After being together for a couple months, it is being reported that country singer Taylor Swift split from One Direction member Harry Styles.

According to The New York Post’s Page Six, the break up appears to have occurred shortly after New Years before Swift’s departure from the British Virgin Isles, where Swift and Styles had vacationed together.

Swift herself tweeted the following cryptic message on January 5, one day after heading back home:

On the same day, photos cropped up of Styles vacationing with friends – including Virgin CEO Sir Richard Branson – on Necker Island, which Branson owns.

Swift and Styles were first seen as a couple during a taping of The X Factor in November, and those who followed their relationship saw many, many photos of the pair exhibiting public displays of affection nearly everywhere they went. They are 23 and 18 years old respectively, so at this young age perhaps a reunion could still be in the cards.

Yesterday One Direction released the music video for their latest single “Kiss You” off their album Take Me Home. Swift is in the midst of promoting her latest album Red, and is set to kick off the next leg of her United States tour in March.
