Taylor Swift’s latest studio album Red was a clear departure for the once pure-country singer, and “I Knew You Were Trouble” is a perfect example of her waning dedication to her genre. In a good way.

“I’m so proud of this one,” Swift said to her Twitter followers when debuting the music video featuring the Red single today.

The music video opens with Swift waking up after what looks to be a wild night at a music festival. We then get a lengthy voice-over from the singer as we see visuals of her now defunct relationship with a boyfriend played by Reeve Carney. “I think when it’s all over, it just comes back in flashes,” Swift eerily says. “It’s like a kaleidoscope of memories. It all comes back. But he never does. I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen. It’s not really anything he said or anything he did. It was the feeling that came along with it. And the crazy thing is I don’t know if I’m ever going to feel that way again. I don’t know if I should.”

This continues for a few more lines, then the song begins. We love the video as much as we do the song. Take a listen below. Swift’s Red is available now – click here to purchase in iTunes.
