Popular country artist Taylor Swift is starting to tease her fifth studio album via clues on Instagram.

The singer-songwriter shared a brief video clip of her finger repeatedly pressing the 18th-floor button on an elevator with the caption “So, here’s your first clue…” this morning:

A new Taylor Swift album has been released every two years since 2006. Since her newest album Red debuted in October 2012, one can assume that a new album will be out this October.

The clue could be suggesting that the album will be released October 18, but that date falls on a Saturday (a day of the week not typically used for album releases). “18” could maybe refer to Monday, August 18, which is exactly two weeks from today. Is the first single from the new album about to drop?

Based on what Swift wrote on Instagram, one can assume that more clues about whatever she’s hinting at will be released over the coming days.

Red was formally announced on August 13, 2012 and went on to sell 1.2 million copies in its first week on sale. The album had seven singles including “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Begin Again,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

What do you think Taylor Swift is teasing?

The artist reportedly began writing songs for the new album a year ago. During an interview conducted with Billboard in November, Swift said she already had several songs planned. “There are probably seven or eight [songs] that I know I want on the record,” she said. “It’s really ahead of schedule for me. I’m just stoked because it’s already evolved into a new sound, and that’s all I wanted. And I would have taken two years to make that happen, but it just kind of happened naturally, so that’s all I could really ask for.”
