About ‘Talk British to Me’ by Robin Bielman:

As the Dating Guy on L.A.’s top morning show, I give the single guy’s perspective on dating, love, and sex — and I give great advice. Everyone’s hooking up…well, except for me. Sure, I can get any woman I want, but I’ve got a “no relationship” clause in my contract and the only woman I want has “relationship” written all over her. Probably stamped on her ass, too. And wouldn’t I like to confirm that.

Unfortunately, she wants nothing to do with me. At all. Something about the next Ice Age might have even come up in her rebuttal. Adorable. Because she’s determined to ignore what one simple kiss proved: she wants me as badly as I want her.

Everything in me is screaming to go after her, but I’ve got a secret that I’m fairly certain will end up with her roasting my nuts over an open fire. So, job on the line? Check. Nuts on the line? Check. Can’t get her out of my head? Nail…meet coffin. But what a way to go…

‘Talk British to Me’ by Robin Bielman review:

Looking for a fun, romantic read for the summer? Look no further! Talk British to Me was the first novel I’ve read by Robin Bielman and I was blown away by how much I enjoyed the read and how hard it was to put down. Not to mention the sunny California setting made dealing with the dreary New England weather more bearable. I have a feeling that I’ll be reading much more of Robin’s novels in the future, as well as re-reading Mateo and Teague’s story!

Technically Talk British to Me falls into the New Adult category, but it felt more like a novel at the crossroads of New Adult and Contemporary Romance. The characters are pretty fresh out of college and still trying to figure out what they want out of life.

It puts them at a unique place and is quite an interesting read, as I haven’t come across many romance novels like it. New Adult novels tend to stick strictly to characters in college, and Contemporary Romance tends to go with characters closer to their 30s. It was refreshing to see characters that were in their weird phase of being adults but still not really knowing what they’re doing.

Mateo and Teague are a couple that you’ll be rooting for the entire time, even when they mess up along the way. Despite their extreme chemistry and adorable friendship, the two fight their attraction to one another as much as possible. They have so many obstacles thrown their way, though, that it’s understandable.

It just makes it all the more satisfying when they finally do get together. But that doesn’t mean they get their happily ever after right away. Mateo and Teague still have lessons to learn even after they get together, but it’s so much fun to watch them growing together.

There’s also plenty of juicy stories going on with the secondary characters around them. I’m not sure what’s next in the series, but I really hope it’s about their friends because there’s definitely more going on than we get to find out about. Until then I will be anxiously waiting for more novels by Robin Bielman!

Talk British to Me by Robin Bielman is available on June 19. Order your copy from Amazon, iBooks, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble. Don’t forget to add it to your Goodreads!
