The Lost Years of Merlin author, T.A. Barron, has released a book trailer for his latest book, Atlantis Rising.

With the tagline “The truth will rise,” this book already feels like an exciting adventure just waiting to happen.

The video is fairly simplistic, with water moving in the background and the words, “It’s destruction inspired stories for 2,000 years. It’s creation has gone untold. Until now,” written over the top.

Just as the viewer rises out of the water, we see a map of Atlantis, which will surely be featured in the front of the book. We also get closeups of the large gem that is featured on the front cover, which perhaps tells us that it could be more instrumental to the story than we initially thought.

Barron has released several other videos in anticipation of Atlantis Rising’s release, where he talks about how this story will be different, introduces us to the main characters, and explains why fans of his Merlin saga will be interested in this Atlantis trilogy as well.

The author has also set up a page where anyone can download the first chapter of Atlantis Rising for free. As a thank you, Barron will be donating $10 to charity for every person that downloads the chapter. The charities all focus on environmental conservation, something that is very close to Barron’s heart.

Read the synopsis below:

In a magical land called Ellegandia, a boy named Promi scrapes by, stealing pies, cakes, and sweets to survive. But when he takes a pie that belongs to the Divine Monk and gets thrown in a dangerous dungeon, Promi’s life changes completely. Marked at birth with the image of a soaring bird on his chest, Promi learns of a Prophecy that tells of someone with that mark who will save Ellegandia and bring about the end of all magic. Promi wants no part in this Prophecy, but because of a courageous girl named Atlanta who is trying to save her beloved forest, he is pulled into battles both on Earth and in the spirit realm. He may indeed bring about the end of all magic – but not in the way he or Atlanta expected.

With his trademark magic, adventure, and poignancy, master of fantasy T. A. Barron explores a whole new mythology – the origin of the legendary isle of Atlantis.
