Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano star in Swiss Army Man, the most bizarre moviegoing experience of 2016. Watch the first trailer here.

Depending on who you ask, Swiss Army Man represents either the low-point or the highest peak of popular entertainment.

The bizarre (yet probably hilarious) Swiss Army Man is directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and stars Paul Dano as a man who befriends a corpse. The corpse is Daniel [don’t make a Harry Potter reference here] Radcliffe, and the corpse farts, as corpses are wont to do.

Despite the fact that viewers of Swiss Army Man allegedly walked out during the screening at Sundance earlier this year, our own reviewer found it “charmingly bizarre”, clarifying: “This is the movie where a desperate man makes use of a farting corpse to escape his island imprisonment. At this point you’re either in for the ride or not, simple as that.”

Clearly this film has the potential to split audiences, and we of course can’t wait to see how Harry Potter fans will react to Radcliffe’s latest venture. Check out the trailer, and let us know in the comments whether you think this film’s for you:

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island, having given up all hope of ever making it home again. But one day everything changes when a corpse named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe) washes up on shore; the two become fast friends, and ultimately go on an epic adventure that will bring Hank back to the woman of his dreams.

Swiss Army Man creates a world like no other—a place of pure fantastical imagination, brimming with magical realism yet featuring two characters whose dreams and fears are entirely relatable. Dano and Radcliffe both fully commit to their directors’ audacious vision, and their work is exceptional, finding the perfect balance of humor and heart that drives the whole film. A celebration of all the wonders cinema has to offer, Swiss Army Man is ultimately all the more remarkable for using its dazzling originality to tell a universal story of human complexity and connection.
