We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto! It looks like Supernatural will be taking on Oz in season 9.

The fourth episode of Supernatural‘s ninth season will deal with the Men of Letters’ history, says E!. The episode, entitled “Slumber Party,” will have flashbacks to the 1930s — 1935 specifically, according to executive producer Jeremy Carver.

In this episode, “we’ll actually see the first two Men of Letters going to, literally turning the key for the first time in 1935,” Carver said. This episode will also introduce Dorothy, a young new hunter from a far away and supposedly fictional land.

If you’re thinking that land is Oz, then you’re right. “You’re going to see that case as something really wonderful to do with The Wizard of Oz,” Carver teased. “It’s a really fun, relatively elaborate episode that we’re all really excited about!”

According to Carver, we’re also going to learn more about Sam’s feelings about the Men of Letters bunker in this episode. Dean has clearly found a home there and, while Jared Padalecki believes that Sam sees it as a place for work, this may just be the tip of the iceberg, based on Carver’s hinting.

Carver called the Men of Letters storyline a “jolt of energy,” with the avenues it has opened both story- and character-wise. There is another layer of mythology the show can address in season 9 and, hopefully, beyond. But the Men of Letters also offers a new mirror to hold up to the Winchesters.

Supernatural season 9 premieres Tuesday, October 8 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
