Supernatural spin-off Tribes has cast Vampire Diaries and Skins alums in two series regular roles.

Lucien Laviscount, an Episodes and Skins alum, will play Ennis Roth, the protagonist of Tribes, reports TV Guide.

Ennis is described as “likeable, strong-willed, resolute, with a strong sense of justice.” The son of a cop, Ennis is preparing to enter the police academy when his fiancée is killed in the crossfire of Chicago’s monster war.

In his quest for the truth behind his fiancée’s death, Ennis meets Sam and Dean, which is how he “learns the staggering truth” that Chicago is run by five families of monsters and becomes a hunter himself.

TV Guide also reveals that Sam will be far more sympathetic to Ennis’ tragedy than his brother when they run into Ennis while working a case in Chicago. In true Supernatural fashion, Ennis will also be dealing with his fair share of daddy issues.

Supernatural: Tribes has also cast Vampire Diaries alum Nathaniel Buzolic as David Hayden. David is a shapeshifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families. Though he left that life behind to live as a human, tragedy brings him back into the fold.

Buzolic played Original vampire Kol in The Vampire Diaries.

Both Ennis and David will be introduced in Supernatural season 9, episode 20. The backdoor pilot for Tribes will air on April 29. The spin-off is described as following the five ruling “mafia-esque” monster families of Chicago and a “newly-minted” hunter trying to rid the city of the supernatural.
