The Supernatural cast was in Rome this weekend for the Jus in Bello convention, and some interesting tidbits came out of their talks.

TV Overmind has a lengthy recap of the convention – read part 1, part 2 and part 3.

A lot of fun seemed to be had by guests and panelists, and some new information was released as well. Jared Padalecki told the audience how he’d like the show to end:

I think the way it should end is that Sam and Dean should go into a field somewhere and say goodbye and then Dean goes into the Impala and Sam goes into another car and Dean looks over his shoulder and sees Ruby [Jared’s real life wife, Genevieve Padalecki] sitting next to Sam and he thinks ‘wait a minute, isn’t that….?’

Jensen Ackles commented on Dean’s reaction to Bobby’s return in “Of Grave Importance,” saying:

I think what it boils down to is that Dean has a very black and white sense of what is right and wrong. I think that, for him, in order to process a situation like that, he needs to put it into a right or wrong situation. That’s how he’s been raised and how he lives his life.  I think that’s why he gets so reckless, because he knows he’s not supposed to be alive. If [a ghost] turns into a vengeful spirit, which is a concern of the guys, they don’t want it to happen to their beloved Bobby.

They also revealed that Chuck was indeed meant to be God in the season 5 finale, and Jim Beaver talked at length about Bobby’s death, admitting that he “didn’t like it.”

Finally, Beaver as good as confirmed an eighth season, saying that while nothing had been made official, they’ve already hired a crew. And he imagines that the show can go on even longer.
