Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles has spoken about tonight’s finale, and the show’s move to Wednesday nights next season. Beware of spoilers.

Speaking to Zap2It at the CW Upfronts yesterday, Jensen Ackles was very appreciative of the fact that Supernatural has been picked up for season 8:

I’m confident in [new showrunner] Jeremy [Carver]. If it was somebody else who was new, who hasn’t been on the show, I might be a little nervous, but the fact that Jeremy was with us for several seasons and wrote some of the best scripts we’ve ever done — he’s kind of a badass. To have him back, I’m definitely confident and excited about him.

He also teases tonight’s finale, which airs at 9/8c on The CW:

We’re definitely going to find Dean in a predicament, much like previous seasons, where it’s like ‘Great, how are we going to get him out of this one?’ He also takes down another, very fan-favorite character with him, and we might have figured out how to end the whole Leviathan threat.

Speaking to US Weekly, Jensen also reveals that he’ll be directing the first episode of the eighth season! So it sounds like they’ve already got some good plans in motion.
