Big news, Supernatural fans! The CW is developing a spin-off of the veteran drama.

Supernatural executive producer Robert Singer confirmed the news at a San Diego Comic-Con press event on Sunday.

Details are few and far between right now, but according to TVLine, a new character will be introduced in or around episode 20, which will act as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off.

This new character will then head the new series which, sources from Comic-Con say, will have a more citified feel than the rural-skewing parent series.

The CW is no stranger to spin-offs, as this fall the network is launching The Originals from parent series The Vampire Diaries.

Supernatural season 9 premieres Tuesday, October 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET, following The Originals.
