The CW has released a new Supernatural season 9 promotional poster. It may look similar to the old poster, but there’s a bit of a twist.

Prior to the start of the season, The CW released a promotional poster for Supernatural season 9, warning viewers to “Prepare for the fall.” Now with the first two episodes of the new season under our belts, the network has released a slightly updated version of the poster.

Notice anything different?

For one thing, we have a new tagline: “The Heavens have opened but Hell will reign.”

But, more interestingly, Sam is now facing forward and casting a winged shadow on the church wall. The skeletal wings are those of Ezekiel, the angel possessing the younger Winchester to heal the damage done to him during the demon trials.

We first saw Ezekiel’s wings in “Devil May Care,” when Ezekiel took over Sam’s unconscious body to kill a group of demons:

So what can we take from this? Likely that Ezekiel (or Zeke, as Dean nicknamed him) will be hanging around for the foreseeable future. Sam, so far, is unaware of Zeke’s presence, and we can only imagine there will be conflict between the brothers when he finds out.

Catch up on what you may have missed during the first two episodes of season 9 with our recaps for “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here” and “Devil May Care.”

Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
